Educational toy lacing from felt "Rainbow Turtle"

With the help of lacing toys, the child develops fine motor skills, which has a lagging effect on the development of speech. When playing, the baby learns to handle shoelaces. The rainbow turtle will help in the study of flowers, learn about concepts such as large and small, one and many, with the help of parents learn to count. For the manufacture of lacing toys do not need special sewing skills, as well as a large list of materials. Would need:

Multi-colored threads for sewing, needles, scissors.

Felt of different colors (thickness 1-1.2 mm, hard), lace (bright color), buttons for eyes and decor, a tool for punching holes and installing eyelets, eyelets (you can do without them). If there are black beads - 12 pieces for the eyes of small turtles.
We prepare the details
Turtle mother consists of a base on which decorative elements are sewn. The base can be made of any color.

We place the pattern on the felt sheet (it was in the baby’s hands, slightly wrinkled), circle it with a fabric marker or pin it with pins, cut it out.

Next, from the base pattern, we make patterns of the main elements:

1 - head (1 part), 2 - leg (4 parts), 4 - tail (1 part). These elements are cut out of brown felt.

3 - triangle (6 parts) - all in different colors. 5 - circle (1 part) different from all the colors used in the turtle.

The baby turtles also consist of a base (brown felt), on which a brown head and a hexagonal shell are sewn, the color of which repeats the color of the triangle of the mother’s shell.

Cut 6 bases.

6 elements of the head and 6 hexagons-shells. Details of the head, as in a large turtle, should be with an allowance for the shell.
Collect the toy

Embroider on the heads of the mouths.

We sew buttons to our mother’s eyes, in children’s eyes French knots (beads).

We sew the head, paws and tail to the base of the big turtle, the heads of the babies. Threads are selected in tone of felt.

Triangles are sewn one by one on the shell of the mother and, without changing the color of the thread, the hexagon-shell of the baby.

Change the color of the thread, sew the second triangle and hexagon.

It turned out such a bright turtle family.

The circle sewn in the center of the shell will add additional rigidity to the toy. It can be decorated with a curly button.
