Sometimes when making any homemade product in the workpiece, you need to cut a groove or, for example, beautifully grind the end face of the part.
This can be done using a milling cutter. But to buy such an expensive tool, if you do not plan to use it constantly - there is no point.
Therefore, in such situations, it will be more profitable to make a manual router. For example, from an electric drill and plywood.
First of all, cut the blanks from plywood of the required size.
In the support "sole" in the center we drill a hole for the cutter, and on the edges - we fasten the cubes of plywood in which you need to drill holes.
The main stages of work
At the next stage, from plywood 18-20 mm thick, cut out the upper platform with a mount for the drill. It is also necessary to drill holes along the edges.
In the holes drilled in the base ("sole"), it will be necessary to insert long bolts.
We press steel sleeves into the holes that are drilled in the upper area of the home-made milling cutter.
This is necessary so that the platform with the drill can move freely along the guides up and down.
Next, we proceed to the assembly: we put springs on the bolts, then we install the upper platform.
For fixing, two home-made wing nuts made of plywood and ordinary nuts are used.
