With a simple home-made device, you can easily and quickly wind a spiral of wire (for example, nichrome, copper or aluminum). Basically, it is nichrome wire that is wound - for electric stoves, heaters, etc.

To make this device you will need a nut (regular hexagon) and a piece of steel bar of circular cross section.

First of all, it is necessary to weld the bar to the nut. To do this, the author grinds one of the faces a little, then clamps the nut in a bench vise and vertically welds the bar (at an angle of 90 degrees).

The main stages of work

Then the author heats a part of the smaller diameter bar with a gas burner and with the help of a sledge hammer flattenes this place. In the flattened part, you will need to drill a hole.

At the next stage, it is necessary to drill three more holes in the nut itself, and cut a thread under the bolt in one of them.

Well, then everything is simple: the homemade product is clamped in a bench vise, a bar with a flattened part is inserted into one hole in the nut, and a bolt is twisted into another. Then you can start winding the wire. A screwdriver is used as a drive.

For details on how easily and quickly you can wind a spiral of nichrome or other wire, we recommend that you watch in this video.
