If it is not possible to buy a manual router for the workshop, you can make a budget option from an old grinder and a drill chuck. Of course, in terms of workmanship, such a homemade product is in many ways inferior to the factory model. But, as they say, for lack of the best on fishlessness and cancer - fish.
It’s probably not worth buying a grinder specifically in order to make a manual milling cutter. But if you have an old working angle grinder, which you rarely use, then it can be spent "at expense". Well, a cam cartridge from a drill can be bought in the market if it is not available.
The main stages of work
First of all, the chuck from the electric drill needs to be "adapted" to the grinder, welding the nut on the back side. To avoid a big beating during operation, the nut must be welded as evenly as possible.
To do this, we first insert a small segment of a stud of a suitable diameter into the drill chuck, then fix it with “cams”, and then just wrap and scald the nut itself. After welding, unscrew the pin.
Then the modified cartridge must be docked with the grinder. To do this, simply wrap the nut on the gear shaft, and tighten it well.
Two small pieces must be cut from a steel pipe with a diameter of 32 mm, to which then two washers must be welded. In the resulting two parts, drill holes with a 10 mm metal drill for M10 wing bolts.
At the last stage of work, it remains only to assemble a home-made hand milling cutter - for this, the grinder needs to be "planted" on guides with a sole.
