With the help of this simple home-made device from scraps of plastic pipes, you can pump water from a tank or an open reservoir to garden beds almost for free. That is, in this case, you do not need to use an electric water pump, which will significantly save on watering.
The only important condition is that a container of water (or an open reservoir) should be located above the level of the device itself. To increase the performance of the entire system, it is necessary to increase the diameter of the pipes. By the way, instead of plastic pipes, you can also use steel pipes - just plastic ones will be cheaper.
The main stages of work
For this homemade product, two check valves with a ½ inch thread will be required (but you can take valves with a different thread for a specific pipe diameter).
Then you will need to cut the plastic pipes into pieces of suitable length and cut the threads at the edges so that the check valves can be “planted”.
In principle, you can use ready-made adapters for plastic pipes. But if there is a lathe, it will be cheaper to cut the thread (with the help of the handle it will not work to cut exactly, since the plastic is soft).
At the next stage of work, we assemble the entire structure. In addition to pieces of plastic pipe, you will also need two tees and one corner. Please note that the non-return valve on the central pipe is installed with the up arrow and the second with the down arrow.
