From scraps of plywood and pieces of sheet metal, you can make a convenient platform with a carriage and a guide for the grinder. Such homemade work is useful in a home workshop or garage (especially if you often have to work with metal). Using this device, you can cut the workpiece at an angle of 90 and 45 degrees.
The main stages of work
The first step is to make a mount for the grinder. To do this, you need a piece of plywood that is suitable in size - using a crown, drill a hole in it of the desired diameter, and then cut the workpiece lengthwise into two halves. On the sides of the workpieces we drill 2 holes for bolt fastening.
At the next stage, it is necessary to make the base for the angle grinder. From a sheet of plywood, cut a piece of rectangular or square shape. Then we cut a piece of sheet steel 1-2 mm thick of the same size, and nail it with small cloves to the base of plywood.
At the edges of the platform, two vertical racks of wooden blocks are installed - between them two steel tubes are inserted, which act as guides. In the third bar, drill holes and insert two flange joints, and then install the carriage on the guides.
We fasten the swivel stop to the base, which allows you to set the workpiece at an angle of 45 or 90 degrees, and we attach the grinder itself to the carriage. For a detailed process of manufacturing and assembling a home-made site for angle grinders, see the video on the site.
