To make the home interior original, it is enough to design it with decorative elements made by yourself. And one of the decor options is a bottle in a cage. By the way, this is also a great gift for men who like different non-standard "things."
To work, you will need a grinder with a cutting and grinding discs, a power electric drill or a drilling machine with a drill for metal with a diameter of 5 mm, a piece of steel bar with a square section of 10x10 mm, a piece of M6 studs, an M6 tap, and two 10 wrenches.
The main stages of work
First of all, using a grinder with a cutting wheel, cut a square bar 33 cm long, then punch one of the ends, clamp it in a vise and drill a hole with a diameter of 5 mm to a depth of about 3 cm. Then we cut the thread with an M6 tap.
At the next stage, we screw a 5.5-cm-long piece of a pin into the hole made in the rod, slightly grind the end onto the cone and wind two M6 nuts. Next, we grind the steel bar with a flap disc. Such blanks for this homemade product will require 10 pieces.
From a sheet metal with a thickness of 2 mm, we cut a circle with a diameter of 126 mm, after which we weld to it ten rods with screwed-in studs according to previously made markings. Note that the square bars should be 90 degrees to the surface of the circle.
Finishing touch
We cut the second circle with a diameter of 126 mm and drill 10 holes in it with a diameter of 7 mm for the studs. A hole with a diameter of 8 mm is drilled in the center of the circle for the M8 stud. We cut out the third circle with a diameter of 126 mm, as well as a strip 390 mm long and 65 mm wide - from all this we weld a “cap”.
We wind 10 M6 nuts on a long hairpin, and on top we put on a section of the profile pipe with a plug in which a hole with a diameter of 10 mm is drilled. A wing nut is screwed onto the end of the stud. A detailed process for making a bottle cage can be seen in this video.
