A metal urn is a guarantee of cleanliness on the street, next to the house, in a summer cottage. Moreover, it not only fulfills the function of disposing of small garbage and helps to maintain order in a particular place, but also acts as a decorative element, harmoniously blending with the environment.
In this article we will tell you how to make a practical and beautiful street urn from an empty freon bottle with your own hands. For this homemade product you will need a balloon and trim profile with sides 20x20 mm. The necessary materials, if they are not at hand, can be inexpensively bought at a metal receiver.
The main stages of work
Using a grinder, we cut off the handles and valve of the freon cylinder. We measure 10 cm from the central weld and mark out around the entire circumference using a marker and tape measure (as an option, you can stick a masking tape on the balloon). For reliable fixation of the cylinder for the purpose of further cutting, you can use the magnetic corners for welding.
Since freon is not a combustible gas, you can not be afraid and calmly cut the cylinder with a grinder. However, it is undesirable to inhale freon vapors, so make sure that the container is empty before cutting. Three holes need to be drilled in the cut off bottom of the container - this is done so that during the rain water does not accumulate in the urn.
We work with a profile
Four identical workpieces with a length of 250 mm and two with a length of 600 mm must be cut from a profile pipe 20x20 mm. In long tubes, it will be necessary to drill two through holes, which are located at a distance of 170 mm and 10 mm from the edge. Next, you need to make the base of the street urn.
We weld three short parts in such a way that we get a design similar to the capital letter "H". Two long profile pipes are welded perpendicular to the base. An even angle must be maintained in two planes. At the last stage of the work, we paint all the details and collect the street urn. Thanks to this design, the urn is easy to clean from small and large debris.
