Turning over logs alone in a summer cottage or in the courtyard of the house is not an easy task, and you can “tear off” your back with excessive force or inaccurate movement. But what if the work needs to be done, but there is no partner? In this situation, a device for turning over logs, which can be done with your own hands, will help.
Preparatory work
First of all, cut the bar of the desired size from the board. Then we process the workpiece on a lathe, giving it the desired shape (something similar to a baseball bat).
It is necessary to make a hook from a steel plate 10 mm thick and 2.5 cm wide to turn over logs. To do this, heat the plate red and give it the desired shape. In addition, you will need to make a two-way clamp (from two halves) and a crutch.
On the upper part of the wooden handle we make a marking, drill holes and fasten the L-shaped crutch made of a plate onto the screws. The surface of the tree before this must be treated with mineral oil.
Fixture assembly
Then with the help of clamps, bolts and nuts we fix the steel hook (near the base of the crutch). Now the home-made tool is ready to go. With the help of a hook we catch a log, and use a wooden handle as a lever. And in this way we move the "object" to the right place.
