Child protection on a swing cabinet

The "castle" actually has 2 main functions: to prevent the child from opening the closet and distract his attention for a short while. Making "child protection" will take no more than an hour. This "lock" is, of course, not suitable for all swing cabinets. You cannot fix it on round handles. One “lock” needs about 5-7 centimeters of a wide Velcro tape (the wider and longer it is, the more difficult it is to open), a base (wide elastic, a piece of jeans, a tight tape) with a length of 25 centimeters (this depends on the distance between the handles cabinet), fabric (preferably knitwear and drapes) and beads for decoration (they need to be sewn very tightly). Cotton wool and lacing can also be useful.




We loop the Velcro around the edges so that it looks “civilian”. On the base tape we sew fabric. This is not necessary, in principle, although the finished product will look more attractive. For convenience, the fabric can be pricked with needles, and a seam should be used for seaming. Sew Velcro to the finished base (at the ends of the base tape). Do not accidentally sew both parts of Velcro on one side.


You can already use this foundation, but I advise you to decorate it with a funny toy, lacing or beads. I chose a flower. From the drape we cut 2 circles. From colored knitwear we cut the petals (two petals of the same color, a total of 10 petals). We sew the petals from above, turn them out and fill them with cotton. We collect the flower: we sew all the petals to one part of the drape circle, then close the draft version of the flower with the second circle from the drape. Ready flower is fixed on the base. You can also sew a ladybug or a small toy bought in a store.

Locking doors is not the only option for using security. You can put it on your hand like a bracelet. Another possible habitat for funny Velcro is a crib, a stroller. You can decorate the entire nursery with these locks, use it as clips for curtains, clips for bags with toys, and so on.
