A piece of hardboard is used as the base. First of all, paint the base in a dark gray color. The author uses ordinary acrylic waterproof paint.
The main stages of work
In the next step, after the first coat of paint has dried, mix the gray paint with a tan color and apply the second coat.
While the paint is still wet, we make grooves on the surface using the notched side on the spatula. Thus, the resulting stripes of two colors: gray and tan.
After that, the author applies another third coat of paint - brown, and with the help of a textured spatula begins to draw a picture on the surface.
After the main texture has set, the author covers the drawing with acrylic glossy varnish and passes over it with a spatula, slightly pressing.
