In this review, the author shows how you can make your own hands a large wooden table with a leg from a thick-walled profile pipe. For the manufacture of countertops, walnuts are used, but you can take any other species of wood.
First of all, you need to saw into the size of the board, from which the countertop will then be glued. In this case, the author specifically makes the countertop large, and therefore it is precisely the thick-walled profile pipe that is used to make the leg.
In each board, you need to make holes for installing wooden dowels. After that, the author glues two shields from the boards, and from them then the countertop itself is glued.
The main stages of work
After gluing and subsequent processing, the master covers the surface of the countertop with a layer of epoxy. Alternatively, you can also use stain with varnish or impregnation with mineral oil (or wax).
At the next stage, the author cuts four blanks from a strip of metal and drills two holes in them. Then it will be necessary to cut a piece of a profile pipe suitable for length. To the lower part of the leg the master welds four plates, previously cut.
Four sections of the corner will need to be welded to the top of the profile, having previously cut off part of the shelf with a grinder. And after that it is necessary to clean the welds and fix the leg on the concrete floor. Then the countertop is screwed on.
