A homemade device that is used for quick marking of sheet metal has a simple design - you can make it literally in 15-20 minutes with smoke breaks.
In the end, we get a convenient scribe that allows you to draw an even line on sheet metal.
The device itself consists of a profile pipe, on one side of which a hole is drilled and a clip with a clamp is installed.
The first step is to cut off a piece of the profile pipe of the desired length. Then you need to drill a hole in it. A segment of a stud with a wing nut will then be inserted into it.
The main stages of work
A hairpin is welded to a metal plate, on the other side of which it is necessary to weld a clamping “five-copeck”, which will fix the entire structure from below.
The essence of this device is that, having installed the profile pipe in place of the marking, one end is fixed with a makeshift clamp. And the second end of the scribe is held with one hand.
After fixing the device on a sheet of metal, a grinder is carried out along the line of the future cut. After several passes in the same place, the line of the future cut becomes clearly visible.
