For quick and safe removal of springs from automobile shock absorbers, in this review, the author suggests making a do-it-yourself adaption, which is just intended for assembly / disassembly of the shock absorber strut.
To make this device, you will need an old car jack (screw rhombic type) and 2 square steel sections.
And first of all, the housing of the screw jack will need to be cut with a grinder to remove the screw. It will be used for the manufacture of this homemade product.
The main stages of work
At the next stage, we cut two pieces of the profile pipe and drill into them through one through hole (at the edges). The diameter of the holes should fit the diameter of the "barrels" with thread.
In one of the blanks from the profile, in the place where the hole was drilled, the author cuts out a groove with a grinder so that a jack screw can be inserted into the pipe.
The master inserts a "barrel" with a screw thread into the hole in the second section of the profile, then protrudes the edges with a grinder. Then this pipe is inserted into the first workpiece.
After that, workpieces from a steel plate (hooks for the spring) must be welded to the profile pipe of larger diameter, as well as to the second section of the profile. They will need to be drilled then holes for the bolts.
