If the shock replaceable heads on the mallet eventually become unusable, they can be easily replaced by making new ones. For this purpose, you can use rubber or fluoroplastic of the required thickness. For more jewelry work, some craftsmen make heads from pieces of leather, gluing them together.

Making interchangeable heads with a hammer for a mallet will not take much time, while the tool itself after such an “update” will last a long time.

First of all, it is necessary to unscrew the old heads and, if necessary, treat the head holder with sandpaper, or better, with a grinding machine. Then we mark out a piece of fluoroplastic and cut out two round logs of suitable diameter. Fluoroplastic thickness should be at least 5-6 cm.

The process of making interchangeable heads

We cut the round billets of fluoroplastic alternately in a vice and drill a blind hole in the center. Then cut two small pieces from a threaded rod of a suitable diameter.

We screw them on the sides of the head holder of a mallet. They should protrude by about 2-3 centimeters. We wind the cut heads on the studs. If the handle is wooden, and dried up, then at the same time it can be updated.

So quickly you can "reanimate" an old mallet. The detailed process of how to make replaceable heads with a fluoroplastic fastener for a mallet with your own hands can be seen in the video on the website.
